Trunk-or-Treat

Saturday was our wards trunk-or-treat. Dallin had a great time. By the time we made it to all the trunks (we had him walk) all the cars were leaving.

Dallin's Favorites!!

Dallin has discovered many new favorite things while living with my Dad and Sharma...

HAND MIXER- Dallin loves to get the hand mixer out and find the beaters (usually in dishwasher, which he opens himself). He then puts the beaters in the mixer, drags it over to an outlet, plugs it in (not safe I know, but he does it all the time when I'm not looking) and turns it on.

RAISIN/ NUT MIX- My dad loves to eat pecans, almonds, and chocolate covered raisins. I was making bread the other day and had Dallin on the counter helping me (sort of helping) and Dallin kept tyring to pick out the raisins from the mix. He kept getting frustrated so he took one of the measuring cups and poured the mix out so he would be able to find the raisins.

ATTIC LADDER- My dad was doing some wiring in the attic and Dallin wouldn't stay off the ladder.

LIP GLOSS- Sharma has a tendency to leave the bathroom door open or leave things Dallin shouldn't touch lying around. Lip gloss is one of his favorites to get into.

CLIMBING- I can't keep him off of things because he does it so quietly and fast.

OREOS- Sharma loves eating these things with milk and now Dallin loves them too.

RED VINES- He got a stick and I started to chase him and then he droped it and acted like it wasn't his.

Boy #2

We just found out today we are having another boy! My due date is January 15 and I am 21 1/2 weeks along. I'm kind of weird about waiting to tell people. I don't really know why, I think part of it is I don't want my happiness to make some else sad. This pregnancy has been much more difficult than with Dallin. From the start of week 5 to week 14 I was throwing up at least once a day. After losing 10 lbs. and currently only gaining back 5 lbs. I am doing much better. I still don't fell great but, I can't complain because of the improvement.
We are very excited for Dallin to have a brother to play with and all the joys that come with boys!!!

Tagged

3 Joys
1. Family and Gospel
2. Making others happy
3. Making myself happy- that may sound weird. Having something to do that I enjoy, so when I have free time (not very often) I can truly enjoy it rather than watching TV or something like that.

3 Fears
1. Things that craw (except babies)
2. Driving between a cement wall and a 18-wheeler on the freeway/ highway
3. Death of others- not really a fear more a worry

3 Current Goals
1. Be prepared for Sundays- manuals read, clothes ready, etc...
2. Be more patient
3. Be more of a mom- doing things with Dallin and not just worrying about things that need to get done. I do things with him, but sometimes at the end of the day I think to myself did I do something with him that we both enjoyed doing together.

3 Current Obsessions
1. Bare Minerals
2. Pots and Pans (trying to find a set that I like)
3. Currently reading "Heidi"

3 Random
1. Currently living at home
2. David sleeps during the day and I sleep at night (work schedule)
3. Dallin is now sleeping in a twin sized bed

I'm tagging Rachelle, Cami, Janeen, Sharma, and Kathryn Ririe. They each need to tag 5 friends.

Out with the old, in with the new

David finally got a new pair of Sunday shoes!! He has a very skinny and long foot, so it is hard to find shoes that fit him well. These shoes were desperately needed considering they were from his mission. So, I decided to take some fun pictures of them!

The Move

We are moving to San Antonio to live with my dad until an intership opportunity becomes available (around the beginning of the year). We are leaving Monday and hope to get to the house by Thursday before dawn. Lots of packing is going on and so I probably won't be posting until we get to Texas.

David the Thief

After work last night David went to our local grocery store to pick-up some ice. He paid for it inside the store (so it wouldn't melt while waiting to pay) and then walked back to the car and forgot to grab the ice. So he pulled up to the ice cooler and pulled his bag he had purchased. He tried going back into the store to tell them he forgot to get it on the way out. However, the doors were locked 10 minutes before closing. So he drove home. About 30 minutes later he was checking his email and reading the news when he heard a car pull up and park next to Rusty. He then heard noise coming from outside. David peeked out the window and saw a car sitting there with its lights on. So he decided to pretend he was getting something from our other car. After he closed the car door, he noticed a police officer coming from behind our apartment. He then began to question David. "Do you live in apartment 102," Yes is there anything I can help you with. "Is that car yours over there and were you at the grocery store" Yes, is there a problem with the car. "The grocery store just called in your plates saying that you had stolen a bag of ice." I went out of the doors of the store and forgot to pick-up my ice until I got to my car so instead of walking back to the cooler I drove my vehicle over to pick it up. I tried to explain to the workers there what had happened but they had locked the doors already. Here is my receipt if that is helpful. "Well it looks like you were just getting the things that you paid for." Needless to say after this whole experience David was slightly irritated. So he went to the stores website and wrote them a complaint regarding what had just happened. It was a good thing that he stayed up or else the officer would have probably knocked on the door and woken Dallin up. If that had happened I have a feeling things would have gotten ugly.

New and Improved Rusty

Our once very rusty ugly car has recently undergone some cosmetic surgery. This is the final product. Those who remember what he looked like before will undestand why we refered to him as rusty. Here is the final outcome. David wouldn't let me take a before picture because he wasn't sure if the after picture was going to look any better.

Moving?!?

(Sorry I don't have a picture with this post)

Many people have been asking us if we are moving, when, and where? The reason you don't know is because we don't know either. David is kind of graduating in a sense that he is walking but not receiving his diploma. The last thing to complete his degree is an accounting based internship. Something we were worried about, was the fact accounting firms tend to hire in the winter during tax season. So here is our plan of action...

1. Our contract is up on August 20th meaning we are going to be homeless.
2. If we have an internship set-up for the winter by the time we leave, we will moving where ever it is at. David will transfer to the local Walmart and work there until his internship starts.
3. If we don't have an internship set-up by Aug. 20th we will be moving in with my dad in San Antonio. David will transfer to the Walmart down there. We will probably stay there until winter and then move to where ever the internship is located.

I hope this makes sense... Basically we don't know where we are moving and we are going to be homeless.

Here is an update for the last couple of weeks. We have been really busy with David's work, homework and school. Here are some pictures of Dallin's everyday activities.

Artist Work

On Saturday we noticed a very happy smily face on the hood of our car. Well I will not tell you who, but a certain little individual desided to draw a picture for us by using "a tree & stone." We took it to the body shop today to get it fixed. So this story is becoming more funny now that the face is gone.

Teeth Pain

Blue= already in
Green= coming in
Sorry, I haven't added much to the blog lately. Our camera is currently not working, so I have no way to take pictures. Well this week Dallin has two teeth coming in and he has been quite grumpy. I was talking with my sister Janeen today and her advise besides teething tablets and oragel was Tylenol. It worked and we had a much enjoyable afternoon.

Burnt Brownies

Have you ever put something back into the oven after it has been cooked to just get it out of the way and forget it is in there? Well this happened to me yesterday, I put some chicken in the oven to bake and took Dallin outside to walk around. About an hour later I came in and it smelled like burnt brownies. I opened the oven door and at first I didn't see anything but the chicken and then I leaned down and saw charcoal stones that used to once be brownies on the very top rack. Needless to say our apartment smelled horrible.

David Hard At Work

I took this picture yesturday of David after he had fallen asleep while doing homework. He is always so tired and I am grateful for the sacrifices he makes for Dallin and I. David is a wonderful dad and husband.

I forgot I had taken this picture of Dallin while I at Rachelle's House (sister). Unrolling all the toliet paper is one his favorite things to do.

Hand Puppet Show

David came home from class and said there was a movie clip that one of his teachers showed in class that I would love. Sure enough, I love watching it over and over.

Dallin Walking

My family was never big on family videos, but Kathryn's family was. So, as Dallin's unofficial "godmother," she insisted we needed a video of him walking.

4 x 3

Dallin is finally starting to walk! This is the funny part. He is 14 months. He took 4 steps on the 4th of this month. He will take a few steps and drop, but atleast I know his skinny legs are capable of holding his body.

One Tattered Angel

If you want to read a book that will change your outlook on life, this is the book for you. I'm not usually a reader because if I had free time I would rather be doing something else. My mom bought this book for me years ago and I had never read it. A free lecure activity sounded great to me! Wow, this is a heart warming story about a family that felt their was another child that needed to come into their home. The mother was unable to bear anymore children and already had 6 or 7 of her own. The story tells how she gets her daughter and the medical struggles she had for the short life she lived. Great book!! You will never complain about taking care of your little one after you read this.

In the middle of January our washer stopped working. David called my dad and was talking to him on the phone about it while he was looking at it. Well, Dallin wants to be just like him so he wanted to try to help.

Dallin's B-Day

Here are a few pictures from Dallin's 1st Birthday. From all of David's b-day pictures growing-up, his mom always made their cake into the age he was turning. So I decided that it would be a fun tradition to start with our family. So, when Dallin grows up and looks at he pictures he will always know how old he was. Well, frosting this cake was harder than I thought! The frosting kept crumbling off on the sides. I really need to learn how to make fondant before next January. So if you have a recipe I'm going to need it (hint Mary Sloan).
Because we gave Dallin more animals and cars for his train I decided to make the number one into a giraffe. (FYI: The Amazing Animal Choo Choo Train is the best toy ever!)

Sledding Trip

I went sledding for the first time in my life today! As you can see I was very scared and David sailed like a pro.
