New Private Blog

I am finally getting around to making a private blog. I really don't like how it doesn't show when someone posts something new. So this is what my plan is. I will post the title of my post on this blog but there will be no info (info and pictures will be on private blog). That way if the title intrigues you and you want to read it, you know when to check our other blog. That way people don't have to log-in and see no new post. Is this making sense at all?

www.hakeshome.blogspot.com

We have a kind of busy next couple weeks. I will start posting pictures when we set-up our new computer (our old computer had a tragic death by water) in our new house next month.

Day Job and Five windows

Things are really looking great for our little family.

On Monday, David started his first DAY job since we have been married. Sunday morning David is usually asleep because he is just getting off work. Instead he was awake and asked, "What do we do Sunday mornings?" I thought is was kind of cute!! He has only been to work two days but really likes it (to me it sounds really boring)!!

We close on our five window house on July 15. We will then lease it back to the owners for five days and then move in. We will become homeowners and landlords on the same day!! It is just the perfect little house for us. I love how the space is divided up. There are things this house doesn't have which I wish it did, but for the size it is perfect!

HUGE updates!!!

We have a lot of updates. First of all our laptop got water on it and is dead. I will post pictures when we get a new computer. For the mean time I am using my dad's.

Wow updates here I go..

David got a JOB!! He put in his two week notice today which happens to be his B-day. He will be working for the City of San Antonio as an Accountant in the Construction and Design department. We are sooooo excited for him to work during the day!!! No more 10PM to 7AM. We started looking at apartments and realized we can either rent a dump or own one for the same monthly payment. We have been approved and now we just have to find the dump we can call our home.

I have been currently refinishing a kitchen table and chairs that my sister left here at my dad's house. It is turning out well for my first refinishing project. The top is red mahogany and the legs are black. I also got my hair cut. It's between my chin and shoulders. I don't miss my 9 inches missing.

Dallin's mystery teeth are FINALLY coming in. I believe they are called incisors. The two top teeth next to the two front teeth. No tooth extraction in a year!!! His current fasinations are: playing with keys (he can open a locked car, get in the drivers seat, and start it) putting EVERYTHING in his pockets, playing with water, wearing sunglasses all day, watching Nemo, and carrying scriptures around the house wanting to go to church. I would describe Dallin as sweet, funny, cuddly, and some times stubborn.

Tanner is 4 months old and weights 14 lbs. 3 oz. (Dallin's weight at 8 months). I would describe Tanner as happy, smiley, and easy to please.

Thank Thee "four"

We have been having Dallin help us with family prayers. He will repeat the last word of a phrase. Tonight I said, "Thank Thee for" and Dallin replied, "five". David and I both opened our eyes, looked at each other, and could barely make it to the end without laughing. Also at the closing of our prayers we say, "And in the name" and Dallin will skip to the end and say, "Amen".

I did it!!!!!

After weeks of:
Matching manikin heads, catching kites as they fly in, giving the burger to the boy, watching the proposal video, catching the butterfly when it landed on the shoulder, eating all the cotton candy, clicking on the broken finger, picking a tulip and planting it, voting for best manikin legs, AND talking 4-way with my sisters while taking turns pressing F5(refresh) for 3 hours, waking up at 3 am to see if the Old Navy site reloaded, getting a $50 off $100 and waiting 3 1/5 hrs. to load and never loaded.
I finally got one.
$75 off $100 at Old Navy
If you have no idea what I'm talking about go to here
I got soooo lucky. It was the red ball that bounced in the play yard after about 5 minutes and only had a second to click on it!!
Have any of you tried hunting for coupons before?
(Sorry Rachelle, Cami, and Janeen I didn't get an extra, so we don't have to do the drawing)

Long week and Updates

It all started at the ward Easter egg hunt and I knew it was going to happen...

Saturday before Easter our ward had an Easter egg hunt. It was chilly for Texas that morning and hardly any kids (and babies!!) had extra layers of clothes on. I told David someone in our family was going to get sick on Sunday from some kid at church. Well sure enough Tuesday morning David and Dallin were sick. Cough, runny nose, vomiting(just David), chills, etc. David called into work on Wednesday and said he was going to make it Thursday. I get sick on Wednesday. Thursday night rolls around and I go to sleep with the bed to myself (David works nights). Three in the morning I am startled by David laying next to me. Not thinking clearly I was confused and made sure I was sleeping with my husband and not some man off the street. David is now feeling much better. Dallin and I didn't go to church and are both feeling much better this evening. Tanner got the slightest stuffy nose but was pretty happy and healthy (thank-you nursing).

Updates
Tanner is sleeping through the night!!!
Dallin went to the dentist and found out that he does have his two missing front teeth, they just haven't come through yet. If they don't come down by next year the dentist will more than likely extract them. He also has taken a sudden interest in going potty. This weeks project is to start potty training. We took him to Target to pick out his potty seat. We will see how the week goes.
My current project is making alphabet file folder games.
David is still looking for a new job and working at Walmart.

Puppy Dog Tanner

Tanner makes a great puppy dog face. Now I just need him to make it when he is in his towel.

Mini Grandpa

Dallin LOVES everything my Dad wears and carries. So Sunday mornings tend to become dress up time. We don't have church til 1 pm and Sunday limits Dallin on options of play. This is the best I have seen Dallin do. The only thing I did was tie the tie which he brought to me. Not pictured: three sets of keys in his pocket.

Brotherly Love

Dallin is so cute with Tanner. Here are a few pictures..

Holding hands while they both were getting diaper changes.

Bunny Pie

My sister, Cami made this when I visited her in CA. It is great and EASY chicken pot pie recipe. I tried to make it more exciting by using a cookie cutter to cut-out a bunny instead of just boring slits. Dallin thought it was great and had to have the bunny all to himself. Here is the recipe:

CHICKEN POT PIE
1/3 CUP BUTTER
1/3 CUP CHOPPED ONION
1/2 TEASPOON SALT
1/4 TEASPOON PEPPER
1/3 CUP FLOUR
2/3 CUP MILK
1 CAN CHICKEN BROTH (1 3/4 CUP)
2/3 CUP MILK
2-3 CHICKEN BREAST COOKED AND DICED OR SHREDDED
SMALL BOX OR BAG OF PEAS AND CARROTS RINSED IN COLD WATER
BOX OF 2 PIE CRUSTS

MELT BUTTER IN SAUCEPAN STIR IN ONION, SALT, PEPPER. STIR IN FLOUR AND REMOVE FROM HEAT. ADD BROTH AND MILK WHISK AND RETURN TO HEAT AND BRING TO A BOIL. BOIL FOR 1 MIN OR UNTIL MIXTURE THICKENS SLIGHTLY. STIR IN CHICKEN AND VEGGIES. PLACE 1 PIE CRUST IN BOTTOM OF PIE PAN POUR IN MIXTURE. PLACE OTHER PIE CRUST ON TOP AND SEAL EDGES TOGETHER. CUT SLITS IN TOP OF CRUST AND BAKE AT 425 FOR 30- 35 MINS. IF CRUST STARTS TO GET TOO BROWN LOOSELY COVER WITH FOIL.
(I have used leftover pork loin and turkey, both were great)

Do you have all your organs?

I am having gallbladder surgery this Friday. I have numerous gallstone which were developed during my pregnancy with Tanner. Hormone change can make bile (your gallbladder stores this) that is more likely to form stones. I first thought the pain was really bad heartburn until I had a gallbladder attach (it's worse than labor). I had a sonogram done three weeks ago to confirm I have many gravel sized stones. Once you have stones you will always have stones. The only way to avoid any more attracks is to have my gallbladder removed. So my question for everyone is: Do you have all your organs?

Tanner on the phone

Last month I left Tanner in the room, on the bed for a few minutes and I came into the room to this. I thought is was very funny.

No Nap Dallin

On Monday Dallin didn't want to take a nap. It was David's day off so he said he would go lay down with him. No more than 5 minutes later I hear Dallin playing with his legos. I go in to find this.

Dallin was so happy David was taking a nap instead.

2 Months

Tanner will be 2 months on Friday. I took him to his dr. visit on Tuesday and he is 12 lbs. 0 oz. and 21 3/4 inches long. Dallin weighted 13 lbs. at 6 months!!

Dallin's Milk

Every night at 7:00 Dallin has a sippy cup of milk. He loves to hold Tanner and his favorite blankie. Tanner is a great sport and lets Dallin hold him.

Argyle

For those who know me I love argyle. David, Dallin, and Tanner all had argyle on two Sundays ago unplanned. I picked out the two boys outfits but didn't realize they were both in argyle. So I had to take a picture!!

I figured I should post a picture of me with the boys too. Tanner isn't sleeping through the night yet so I look tired in all my pictures!

Tanner's 1st Smile

I was able to catch Tanner's first smile on camera. We is growing so fast!! He can already roll over and sit in a bumbo. An outfit that Dallin fit into at 4 months is too small for Tanner and he is 7 weeks! We just love having him around and Dallin still LOVES giving him kisses.

Tanner's Baby Blessing

We blessed Tanner last weekend on March 1st. We blessed him in my dad's house because it was stake conference (we forgot) and airline tickets had already been purchased. We were able to have David's Mom, Dad, and sister (Christine) come out for the blessing. We loved having them visit and the only thing that could have made it better is if they stayed longer!!!

When we were taking pictures after the blessing, Dallin was trying to take pictures of us and wouldn't cooperate unless he was taking a picture too!!

40 1/2 weeks

I had my appointment today. I'm now a GOOD 3 and very soft (sorry if that is too much detail for a blog). My Dr said if I make it to my appointment (next Monday), he will schedule me for the next available inducement...next available!? What if the next one isn't for another week after that. Do you have any advise on how to get this baby out!?!

38 1/2 weeks

OK, so here it is. You are lucky I'm smiling. Today I went to the doctor and was told I have progressed negatively. What is this you ask? A week ago I was a 2 1/2 and was half dropped. Today my doctor told me the baby has moved back-up. The little boy is now not even close to dropping. It's like I sucked him back-up or something. So this doctor is great but he is going to let me go two weeks over my due date. I told him he is crazy. He started to give me his analogy story about targets and I told him he already told me. My original due date was Jan. 4 and then it was moved to Jan. 15. Now it could be as late as the 29th! I know due dates aren't always accurate. Hello I had a postive pregnacy test and if you calculate to the Jan 29th I wouldn't have gotten a postive when I did. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful to be having another baby and things are still looking great. But still, my body was not made to deliver a 9 pounder.

Happy B-day Dallin

I always make (well the past two b-days) Dallin's cake into the number he is turning. This year it was made into a dog because he just loves them. I had to take a picture of Dallin eating his little dog bone with a fork because he has to have a fork every time he eats. He will only take metal forks not plastic, he is silly. He understood unwrapping unlike Christmas and loved everything he got. His top present was his tool set. I love it because it keeps him occupied for a good amount of time. He had no problem figuring out how things worked.

Christmas 08

We had a great Christmas here in Texas! Dallin really never understood the whole unwrapping thing, unless we took off the paper and he saw what was hiding. One of his favorite gifts was his little little bike just his size. He also loves his cars, bath toy set, and all the candy.

This was taken in the middle of December. My dad was dipping nuts in chocolate and Dallin had to make himself a part of it.

Catch-up

I haven't posted forever! At the beginning of the month I went to visit my sister, Cami in CA for two weeks while her husband was out of town. She has 4 boys under the age of 6. Needless to say having 5 boys and me pregnant we got many looks from people if we went anywhere. Some were looks out of pity and others wanted us out of the store. Sorry I didn't take any pictures because it was hard enough taking care of the break downs. Dallin and I had a great time and had no boring moment!! Then we flew to Janeen's, my sister who lives in AZ for the blessing of her 3 child Kenzie.

I was only there for 3 days and then drove home with my dad and sister Sharma. David asked off work and they didn't give it to him so he wasn't able to go to AZ.

Thanksgiving- It was here at my dad's house with my sister Sharma, her boyfriend, David, Dallin, Dad, and I. Everything tasted great and we had lots of leftovers.

Baby- Everything as far as we know is going great. I will be 35 weeks tomorrow on the 11th. I will post a picture of my big belly soon!! We plan on delivering here because we haven't received a job offer yet. I also crave gala apples, I don't know how many I have had this pregnancy. I average about two a day.

Job Search- Well I wish we were past the searching stage be we aren't. David hates his job with Walmart. He works in their accounting office. He works with a bunch of women that have nothing better to do then to start rumors. At least he has a job and it gives him more desire everyday to find a new one. He is looking everyday for new postings and follows up until they send him a rejection letter.

Graduation- This Friday David officially graduates. He is doing his internship (but Walmart considers it a job) and now can leave anytime he finds a new job. David said he can't wait to say, "Here is my two week notice."

Homeless- We are still living with my dad and sharing the upstairs with my sister. The other day I said we should buy the house down the street. She said, "I liked it when it was just me and dad and you need your own life."

Thats about it. I think it covers everything.
